OLOT MEATS GROUP RECEIVES THE INTERNATIONAL PROJECTION AWARD
The awards recognise the three companies’ export initiative, international projection and special innovation. The business corporation also wanted to thank Celler de Can Roca for its help in internationalisation.
The Chamber awarded Sant Aniol, Olot Meats Group and Enprom during the annual Export Awards gala. The corporation thus recognised the three companies for their export initiative, for their international projection and for their innovation. In addition, special recognition was also given to Celler de Can Roca for its help in the internationalisation of the Girona regions. The 22nd edition of the Export Awards, organised by the Girona Chamber of Commerce in the Auditorium, was closed by the president of the Generalitat, Carles Puigdemont. The jury has valued a total of 15 companies from the demarcation that have stood out for their export figures or for the innovations they have introduced in their internationalisation processes.

The aim of these awards is to recognise the good work of Catalan exporting companies, which already have more than a thousand that regularly send their products around the world. The Export Initiative award, which was won by the Sant Aniol Water Company, recognises the best work of companies with a turnover of up to 5M EUR. The merits that the jury has highlighted have been the improvement in the production lines and the launch of new formats that have allowed the continued growth of the turnover in the threshold of these 5M euros and of the percentage of exports. Also, the arrival to particularly complicated markets such as the United Arab Emirates. The main countries where their products arrive are the United States, 24%; the United Kingdom, 22%; and China, 11%.
The projection abroad.
The second award, dedicated to International Projection, was given to Olot Meats Group and recognises the international projection of companies with a turnover of more than 5M EUR. The consolidation achieved in recent years, reaching increasing export figures, the opening of new markets in third countries, as well as the remodelling of a large part of the facilities, has been highly valued. Olot Meats Group has 1,200 workers, with offices in Olot, Juià and Celrà, and has a turnover of nearly 600M EUR of which it exports 347M EUR. Its main markets: China, 45%; Hong Kong, 20% and Vietnam, 11%. As for the third prizewinners, Enprom Packaging SL received the Special Award for Innovation, which aims to recognise the special effort in innovation made by exporting companies in Girona. The jury highlighted the circular structure of the company, which values the participation of all the members of the technical team, the relevant commercial alliance with a leading company in the sector worldwide that allows it to access new international markets, enjoying certifications in R&D. It also highlighted the excellent evolution of turnover and exports. The company is based in Sant Julià de Ramis and has 24 employees and its turnover is close to 4M EUR with 50% exports. Its main markets: Germany, 27%; the United States, 25% and Portugal, 17%. The jury of the Export Awards was made up of Domènec Espadalé, president of the Girona Chamber of Commerce; Joaquim Macià, director of Institutional Banking at Caja Bank; Alicia Giráldez, head of department at ICEX Barcelona. Also taking part were Núria Betriu, former general director of Industry and former CEO of ACCIÓN; Joaquim Maria Caula, Esmeragdo Macias and Jaume Guardia, export entrepreneurs and members of the Executive Committee of the Girona Chamber of Commerce, and Eduard Torrent, managing director of the Girona Chamber of Commerce.
